We all know that the holidays are about more than “packages, boxes or bags”, but it’s easy to get wrapped up in the excitement of gift-giving. Fortunately, there’s now a day dedicated to balancing consumerism with altruism. On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, communities around the world are coming together to celebrate and encourage giving back to the community.
As you start your holiday shopping, please consider including GSIL on your list. Any donation ($5 – $100+) will make a difference in the life of someone who needs it. Giving the gift of independence can help a senior age safely and comfortably in their own home. It can help an at-risk student gain real on-the-job training. It can even go towards building a ramp so that your neighbor can get their wheelchair in and out of their home.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving back this holiday season!
