On March 7th, 2020 over 200 community members and business leaders will gather on the courts for Granite State Independent Living’s (GSIL) ninth annual wheelchair basketball tournament, Hoops on Wheels 2020! At this event, people with and people without disabilities compete in wheelchairs for the championship title. As players maneuver around the court, they get a small taste of what it’s like to use a wheelchair and the importance of accessibility throughout the community.
Last year more than 20 teams competed, laughed, got some exercise and left with a sense of pride. They had the warm feeling of supporting this great organization and knowing that their day of fun helped folks with disabilities, at-risk youth and seniors. You can help others have this much fun and feel this good about yourself while doing it! So, grab your friends – grab your family – form a team of eight and then enroll your team. We have both a recreational and competitive league, but the one thing all players have in common – they ALL like to have fun!
