Ways to Give

Monthly

A sustaining monthly gift is easy and convenient. These gifts provide steady and predictable support for our programs while allowing you to ‘set it and forget it’. Sustaining donations are deducted from your bank account or credit card. Simply select the sustaining gift option that works best for you on the Donation Form.

By Program

Your charitable gift can be earmarked for the program or service that is important to you. For example, helping underserved students fulfill their potential, we provide services that enable people with disabilities to live full and independent lives in community and we help move people out of nursing facilities back home. Select the program of choice on the Donation Form or leave it to us to apply your gift where it can do the most to advance GSIL’s mission.

Planned Giving

Legacy gifts help you meet your current philanthropic goals and extend your generosity well into the future. But did you know that a planned gift can also protect your assets, provide for your family, and guarantee you income for life? You can even make a significant impact through a gift that costs nothing in your lifetime (through a charitable bequest under your will). Learn More.

Volunteer

Event Volunteers Needed! Does your employer offer paid volunteer time? Are you looking for way to make a difference in your community? Are you willing to referee a basketball game? Or maybe you would like to try your hand at announcing or keeping score at a game? Hoops not your thing? We need spotters at our annual golf tournament contest holes too! Maybe you are an aspiring photographer? We have events throughout the year that we could use your skills!

Volunteer for GSIL, whether for a few hours a year or a few hours a week, volunteers allow us to focus our funds on helping GSIL consumers. Volunteers help with events, training, fundraisers and more!

Advocacy

At GSIL, advocacy is core to what we do. We find inspiration from the fearless disability rights leaders who succeeded in passing the ADA and we work to ensure the thread of their legacy is pulled through to today. You can count on GSIL to be front row in legislative hearings on bills impacting the quality of life for people with disabilities, economic wellbeing of people with disabilities, autonomy for people with disabilities and we stand in solidarity with other formerly marginalized groups to ensure no ground is lost.
At GSIL, we believe that it is from coalitions that we build momentum and strength so we are pleased to partner with other advocacy organizations around issues of common interest such as long term care services, affordable housing, educational opportunity, voting rights, or the welfare of service animals to name only a few. We would love for you to be a part of our engaged coalition. By signing on to our advocacy alerts, you will receive directly in your email inbox, notifications of important hearings on policies or budgetary action that is important to our community.
