Personal Care Attendant Program
The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Program is a self-directed program which allows individuals real choice and control over their personal care services. GSIL’s experienced Personal Care Nurses help individuals design programs tailored to their needs and lifestyles, and teach them to successfully manage their personal care attendants and overall program. This program is funded by New Hampshire Medicaid.

The PCA program is designed to help individuals maintain their independence in their homes, at school, or at work. Services may include:

• Bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming assistance;
• Nutrition and hydration assistance;
• Mobility assistance
• Light housekeeping, meal preparation and cooking
• Chore services
• Household management assistance

Eligibility

To be eligible for PCA services individuals must:
• Qualify for Medicaid;
• Be 18 years of age or older;
• Have a severe physical disability;
• Require a wheelchair for mobility;
• Require at least two hours of personal care daily; and
• Be able to direct his/her own care.
