Jane Hunter, RN Information and Referral Coordinator: 800-826-3700 ext. 1153
Or email us at LTSinformation@gsil.org or by clicking here.
Or speak to your long-term care insurance, HCBC/CFI or VA case manager.
(Currently our pilot program services Merrimack County residents only. More counties will be available in the near future.)
IS THERE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF HOURS REQUIRED?
No. We will try to accommodate (as staffing allows) whatever your needs are and are available by phone 24 hours a day at 800-826-3700.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE WHAT SERVICES ARE NEEDED?
During the admission process, we work with you and your family to come up with a plan of care to meet your individual needs and promote your independence. We will assess how much assistance you need with personal care or maybe you just need someone to do errands and shopping for you because you no longer drive. Whatever the need we will do our best to provide services that are tailored to you, and help you achieve your goals of remaining in your home and community.
WHAT INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?
Currently we accept long-term care insurance, HCBC/CFI Waiver through NH Medicaid and VA benefits.
DO YOU PROVIDE RESPITE CARE?
If you or your family is paying privately, you can determine how the Home Care – Personal Care Service Provider’s time is spent. If your services are being covered by insurance, then they must approve this type of service. The hope is that in the future GSIL will be able to accept reimbursement from the Respite Care Grant.
WHAT IS RESPITE CARE?
Respite is the time needed for primary caregivers to have time for themselves when caring for a loved one. Long term care can be overwhelming at times. Respite allows caregivers the freedom to know that their loved one is in capable hands while they take care of their own needs. Caregivers can use this time to take care of personal business, visit with friends and family or just have some time to themselves. Remember caregivers need to take care of themselves as well.
