
The Earn & Learn Program is a highly successful part of the high school transition services offered by GSIL. The program provides an academic, life skills and employment experience for Manchester high school students with disabilities who have dropped out of school or are at risk of dropping out. Through the program students work individually and in groups to help them gain a better understanding of who they are as individuals, their learning style and provided assistance in indentifying what is meaningful in their lives with regard to their future. Students enrolled in the Earn & Learn program is 10 weeks, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday through Friday, and it combines academics, life skills and work experience. The program is funded by the Department of Education- Vocational Rehabilitation through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
