Events for Deaf Awareness Week

The Deaf Community in NH has put together some great events to help spread awareness. Below is a list of what’s happening this week. Deaf Awareness Week in New Hampshire
Cosponsored by New Hampshire Association of the Deaf (NHAD), and
University of New Hampshire at Manchester (UNHM)'s Sign Language
Interpretation Program
1) Monday, Sept. 21st, 5:30-7:30pm: Lecture/Discussion “Vocational
Rehabilitation” with Dee Clanton at NHTI – Concord Community College,
Sweeny Hall, 31 College Drive, Concord, New Hampshire.
2) Tuesday, Sept 22nd, 6:00-8:00pm: Lecture “Deaf Mental Health”
with Dr. Cynthia Whitaker, at University of New Hampshire at
Manchester, Third Floor Auditorium, 400 Commercial St.
Manchester, New Hampshire.
3) Wednesday, Sept. 23rd, 5:30-7:30pm: Panel Discussion “Building
a Bridge in NH” with Deaf Community, Interpreters, and
ASL/Interpreters Students, at Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Services (NDHHS), 57 Regional Drive, Concord, New Hampshire.
4) Thursday, Sept. 24th, 5:30-7:30pm: Lecture “Advocacy,
Assertiveness, and Access” with Susan Wolf-Downes, Executive Director,
NDHHS, at Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (NDHHS), 57
Regional Drive, Concord, New Hampshire.
5) Friday, Sept 25th, 5:30-7:30pm: “Deaf, Deaf World!!”
Fun-filled Total ASL Immersion communication activity for Beginning
ASL Students, at University of New Hampshire at Manchester, Third
Floor Auditorium, 400 Commercial St., Manchester, New Hampshire.
** Deaf Professionals’ Happy Hour (DPHH) at Jillian’s on same street,
Commercial Street, afterward.
6) Saturday, Sept. 26th, 5:00-10:00pm, Blake’s Restaurant, 354 South
Main Street, Manchester, New Hampshire.
