What is Ticket to Work?
Ticket to Work is a voluntary program of the Social Security Administration (SSA) which provides the ticket holder with the opportunity to explore employment options and receive support in order to find and maintain employment.
If the beneficiary chooses to use the Ticket and go back to work, he or she will contact an approved Employment Network, such as Granite State Independent Living.
What is an Employment Network (EN)?
An EN in an organization, (state or local, public or private) that enters into a contract with Social Security to provide employment services to beneficiaries at no cost to them.
Why choose GSIL as your EN?
Granite State Independent Living became an approved Employment Network in 2008. With 30 years of experience assisting people with disabilities in reaching their goals, we recognize that employment is an integral piece of achieving independence.
As your EN, we will provide you with services which will help you reach your employment goals:
• Identifying areas of strength and employment goals
• Identifying perceived barriers in the job search process and/or workplace
• Internet access for job search
• Job search skills and techniques
• Resume and cover letter preparation
• Interviewing skills
• Skills and interest assessments to match existing skills with available jobs
We are aware that the process of entering or returning to work may leave you with many questions, including concerns about how full or part time work may impact the benefits you receive. GSIL has a Work Incentives Planning & Assistance (WIPA) team who will work one-on-one with you to make informed choices regarding how employment will affect your Social Security benefits.
